There is various specific camping gear that is suited to different types of camping. Camping with children, especially young children, will require more gear than those camping alone or in a group of peers.
Certain precautions need to be taken by all campers but when there are children more precautions are necessary. Family size tents are available and can be very comfortable. You will probably want a tent that is easy to set up and use, especially when camping with children so you aren't spending all day building a tent.
It is important to know the weather conditions of the campsite and to take the necessary precautions to keep yourself warm while sleeping. Your camping gear should include more than just any old tent and sleeping bag, especially those for children.
The type and size of the tent is very important depending on how many people will share the tent and much comfort you expect your tent and sleeping equipment to provide. We all know that usually when a tent says holds four that usually means it will fit three people comfortably and four would be a squeeze without inflatable mattresses and very little other gear. The number that the tents give for sleeping campers is for more extreme backpackers who pack very light and take only bare necessities on their trips.
Another very important item of camping gear is the sleeping bag. Because many campers may be carrying their gear on their backs it is also important that the bag is not too bulky and awkward to carry. You want your sleeping bag to be of good enough quality to keep you warm while you are sleeping. To get the best in camping gear is not always cheap but it is possible to find good quality camping gear at a reasonable price.
Another item of camping gear to think about if you are camping over a few days is a camping stove. These can be found in most outdoor stores. They do not have to be big and bulky to serve their purpose. Small stoves can be found that only require some oil to light up and travel size pots that can fit on top.
