Tips For Seasonal Camping With The Family
from: Kyle BesserSeasonal camping begins during spring season where you are free to come and go whenever you please throughout the summer until it closes in the fall. At a seasonal campsite, you can leave your camper settled on the campsite all season. Some sites even store it for you for the winter.
Seasonal camping sites provide modern amenities for a resort-like camping experience. Amenities often include cable TV, water, sewer, metered electric and wireless internet.
Here are some tips to consider when choosing a seasonal campground for your family's needs:
1. Ask whether electricity is metered or included in the package.
2. Ask if sewage is included. If not, find out how much a pumpout will cost.
3. Ask what the campsite's planned activities at the grounds are. Find out if there are activities that your family can engage in within a short distance of the campsite.
4. Find out how close you will be to your neighbors. If you are easily disturbed by noise, make sure that the seasonal trailers are orderly.
Here are some tips for safety:
1. Make certain you are familiar with survival and first aid before you go. It is sensible to attend a survival class and pass on to your kids its basic information.
2. Choose activities appropriate for the area and your children's ages.
3. Inform your family members to never go hiking alone. If a group of your children go, tell them to inform you about their plans.
4. Keep everyone well hydrated. When you are thirsty, it is a sign that you are already dehydrated.
5. Dress accordingly, with proper hats, shoes, sunscreen and sunglasses.
6. When hiking with younger children, it is wise for an adult to lead the way with another adult behind them.
7. Have everyone wear or carry a whistle which they can blow to call your attention as well as to keep wild animals away.
8. Never leave kids alone in the tent, car, or camper.
9. Take along your first-aid kit when hiking as well as extra snacks, water, clothing and your cell phone.
10. When it starts to rain, turn back, especially when hiking with younger children. There will always be another time.
11. Take your trash along with you when you leave!
Seasonal camping primarily is about being trouble free and comfort. Once you have established your position, you are all set to camp during the whole summer season.
